I will be teaching aa two-day workshop in Blaine, Washington from Saturday September 2 - Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Join visiting artist Christine Mauersberger and spend two days this September learning how to use handmade paints and a variety of stitches on a interesting Japanese papers. We will make small hand-painted and stitched works suitable for framing or incorporating into books in your own studio.

Location: Blaine Washington

Time: 10:00am — 4:00pm

Workshop fee: $245.00

Workshop Description: The act of hand-stitching is meditative and allows one to engage in a rhythmic and powerful state of being. Join artist, Christine Mauersberger as we stitch free-flowing lines and small marks using thread, watercolor, and a variety of Japanese papers to create small artworks in response to our own short stories. She will bring a variety of threads for all to share.

Workshop fee includes all of the papers you will need, small bits of fabric, embroidery floss, needles, a travel pack of Beam paints and a small travel brush which you can take home after the workshop. Additional paper packs will be available for purchase if you wish to continue painting and stitching after the workshop. There will also be additional shared brushes available to experiment with and your work table will be set up with small cups and plates for working with your paints. You are welcome to bring your own painting tools and supplies as well if you wish, but it is not necessary.

Water. beverages, light snacks and fruit will be provided throughout the workshop. There is a small fridge if you wish to bring your own lunch. There is a good fish and chips truck within walking distance. As a group we could decide
